Mackenzie at the Spelling Bee

August 21, 2019

Mackenzie did very well at the NZ Spelling Bee semi-finals in Hamilton central. She managed to get through to the fourth round and it was a real pleasure to watch her compete. It takes a lot of courage to stand on a stage in front of strangers to compete. - Andrea Kingi
At first I started to get quite nervous because I was scared that I was going to get out but once I got there I was actually excited and didn’t actually care that I didn’t win. It turned out to be fun. The words started off really easy and then they started to get really hard. In the end I felt proud of myself and thankful for all the support that I had around me especially Mrs Kingi who supported me the last 3-4 months. - Mackenzie Butler
