Young NZ Writers 2019

A group of keen writers from our school went to Rotorua to meet New Zealand and International writers. They participated in different writing workshops to get ideas on how to craft and publish their work. Some suggestions were to write every day, read for ideas from all kinds of genres and look at different objects for inspiration to start a story. Each student was given a little goody upcycled pack, which I thought was a great idea as a gift. A big thank you to Whaea Aroha for helping out with driving them down and for the students and the positive way they conducted themselves. - Whaea Eliza
We would like to congratulate Autumn McCormick, Kawiti Flavell-Peri and Stevannah Troy, who received “Highly Commended” for their short stories and were published in this year's book “Something strange happened in Rotorua”. Check out their stories (attached).
