Ngaruawahia High School is a unique Kura, which has provided the families of Ngaruawahia and the surrounding areas with quality co-educational education for 60 years. As a school, we embrace the spirit of the Treaty of Waitangi and encourage bi-cultural and multi-cultural perspectives.
Term 1 2023 will start for different year groups as follows:
Year 12s & 13s - Tuesday, 31 January.
Everyone else - Tuesday, 7 February for a whole-school poowhiri (arrive at 8:45am).
Here is a rundown of the first 2 weeks of school POET activities.
The school day is from 8:45am to 2:30pm.
The school office is open from 9am - 4pm weekdays.
The Ngaruawahia Board of trustees is pleased and excited to announce the appointment of Rebecca Hodgson as our new principal starting in January 2023. Rebecca brings a wealth of knowledge and skills that will benefit the learning of our tamariki. Her poowhiri will be held at school on Thursday, 2 February at 10am. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The Ngaruawahia High School Board wishes to announce the resignation of our Principal Chris Jarnet, with effect from the end of the 2022 school year. The Board would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the huge contribution Chris has made to our school and community over several decades. The exciting new buildings currently being built at the school reflect his hard work.
