Rat Dissection Day

In Year 12 Bio / Chem we are currently investigating & comparing the gas exchange systems of mammals, fish, & insects, & relating their adaptive structures to the life process of respiration. Today was a session involving 'rat dissection' to allow students to have an in-depth look at the lungs & associated structures of the mammalian gas exchange system. As you can see - most students were 'right into' the activity, while others chose to take a step back & watch. Only a couple of students opted to remove themselves completely (which is A-O.K) & instead sat outside in the sun with their notes. -Whaea Rachael
