On Thursday, 9th June students from Ngaruawahia High School participated in the Senior Interschool Regionals Chess tournament that was hosted by Fairfield Intermediate.
The students from our school were Alexis Muru, Wiremu Morunga-Cooper, Teremai Te Ripo, Mathieu Williams and Chamberlain Wipani. There were many schools in the Hamilton area who participated as well as outlying schools in the Waikato such as Putaruru and Te Kuiti. All our students represented our school to a very high standard with some very nail biting moments witnessed by those who attended. A huge thank you to our parent support, Geraldine Muru, who came to tautoko our students. — Mrs West
